a bit of poetry
years ago, I had a small but driving impulse to pull out my out jumpy smith corona travel typewriter
to flatten out a paper bag
and type little thoughts and bits of poems onto it
and go off into the woods.

a rock in the creek, a fern frond in the sun, a little snail shell I nearly stepped on: I photographed these little speckled notes anywhere and everywhere that called out to hold the little ragged-edged pieces of thought
moving slower, breathing deeper, looking closer

like every other form of art I practice, creating these notes soothes, consumes and feeds me
I submit to them, willingly

speckled notes are available as photographs or clean-line minimalist post cards
you can also commission notes from poems, letters, wedding vows or other personally deeply meaningful words
