photography: field notes

bright gold wild grass, on a dark background

i take a lot of long walks. hours pass standing in a single long gathering of ferns, exploring a roadside patch of queen anne’s lace, belly-crawling to get close to a single purple mushroom. i regularly risk my camera crossing creeks and climbing trees. happily.

my photography documents drifts of light and shadow, the motion of water over rock, the blur of the wind in a field of flowers. these field notes are a mix of natural landscapes and botanical abstracts, all of them reflective of the moods of the moments in which i find them
